ROOM 4 GARDENERS.

As part of our topic studies we planted some bean seeds. First we had to put the soil into a container. Then we pushed the bean seed into the soil. Last of all we watered our seed. We watered them carefully each day and they began to grow. At the end of the term we were allowed to take our beans home. We even planted some daffodil bulbs in the the planter outside Room 4. In the spring we will have some beautiful daffodils.

PLAYGROUND MATHS

Our whole class maths topic for Term 2 was Position and Orientation. One day we practised following instructions and we went up, down, through, across and over the playground equipment.  Then we had a turn to give each other instructions. It was great to practise maths in a fun way.

THREE LITTLE PIGS

One of our art projects was to construct and decorate a house for the three little pigs. It took us two sessions to create our houses and then we decorated them.  We collected boxes and junk materials from home over the term and had a great variety of materials to use. We hope you enjoy looking at our creations. If you click on the last two video clips you will be able to hear how we made our houses.

JUNIOR SCHOOL PRODUCTION

At the end of Term 2 Room 4 were happy and excited to participate and contribute to the Junior School Production. We had a great time doing our Old McDonald dance. We loved showing off our acting skills to our family and friends.

HOCKEY

During the term Room 4 has been participating in hockey sessions. We have learnt how to hold the stick the right way, push, stop and hit the ball. We've had a fun time learning some new skills.

GINGERBREAD MEN

As part of our topic studies about Fairy Tales Room 4 children made Gingerbread men. We mixed the sugar, eggs and butter together. Then we sifted the flour and ginger into the mix. We had turns at mixing it altogether and patting it out flat. Then we cut out the shapes and cooked them. When they were cool we iced them and of course we ate them before they ran away.

We even wrote about how we made the Ginger bread men. We had fun and they tasted great.

OUR MUSICIANS


On Wednesday afternoons we go to music with Mr Ramsay. We have a great time playing all the different instruments and making music together.

Room 4 Soccer Stars

Our PE focus for this term is "Having a ball". Last week we participated in a soccer session with the children from Room 2. We had a great time kicking and balancing the ball.

Life Education

During the last week of Term 1 Harold and Anna came to visit Sunnybrae School. They told the  Room 4 children about ways to keep ourselves healthy. We learnt about eating fruit and vegetables and drinking plenty of water. We loved looking at the stars in the night sky and Harolds' photo album. Thanks for coming to visit us Harold !!!!
