ROCKY SHORE TRIP

Along with the rest of the Junior Syndicate Room 4 went to Castor Bay. We had a wonderful time exploring the rock pools. We found all sorts of creatures including starfish, shrimp, anemones and crabs. Who would have thought there were so many different types of seaweed? It was hard work clambering over the rocks and we certainly enjoyed our lunch sitting under the big tree. Then we had fun playing on the playground and building sandcastles. It was soon time to climb back on the bus and return to school. We were very tired but had a great time.

JUNIOR SCHOOL HUFF AND PUFF

Las              On Tuesday Room 4 participated in the Junior School Huff and Puff. 

                    We had been practicing every day to get fit during fitness time. We ran with our Room 13 

                    buddies and had a great time.

STEPPING OUT WITH CONSTABLE HARWOOD

Last week Constable Harwood visited our class and showed us how to be safe when we’re out walking. We learnt about the safe way to walk along the footpath keeping to the house side. We practiced crossing the road the right way at the traffic lights and what to do when a vehicle is parked on the footpath. We even got to sit in the police car with Mrs Morley. It was great fun.

Look out for hazards on the footpath.

Patterns, Patterns Everywhere !!!

Did you know that there are patterns all around us?

Our whole class maths topic for this term is Algebra. 

 On Friday we went outside and looked for patterns. 

We found them everywhere. We even made rubbings 

using crayons. Keep checking our blog to find out 
what else we have been learning about patterns.

100 days at school

At the beginning of maths each day we talk about, and count numbers. Each day we count how many days we have been at school. Last term we celebrated 100 days at school.

We had a special maths session finding out about all the different ways we could make 100 !!!

BUDDY VISIT

Most Fridays our buddy class visits us. Our buddy class is Room 13 and we love it when we get together. They are going on camp soon and they shared some things about camp with us. They also helped us with our poetry and listened to us as we shared our published stories with them. Thanks for visiting us and have a fun time on camp.

ROOM 4 PRINT MAKERS

During Term 3 we experimented with print making. First we made print blocks using cardboard. We made a space scene with rockets and stars. Then we used white ink to make a print on black card. It was great fun and we made some fantastic space prints.

We went on the bus with Room 3 and 6     to the Star Dome. First we sat in funny seats and watched a movie about stars and planets. Then we looked at some models of planets and space rockets. We even pretended to be astronauts.

THE SUN

                                        

This term we have been learning about space, the stars, planets and the moon. Read the true and false facts we wrote about the sun. Look at our great art work.

Library Time

Every Friday Room 4 go to the Library. We can get a new book to take home to share with our families. We can find interesting books that tell us lots of information. Its fun to read books to ourselves and then to listen to a story.

Mrs Sutherland helps us to issue the books that we are taking home. Sometimes if she is busy Mrs Cundy will help us. We love visiting the library.
